This article corresponds to a case report in the context of the practices of organization and representation of information in the formation of bibliographic collections. It focuses on the provision of services by specialized librarian teams, which confirms the performance of this professional, in an autonomous and entrepreneurial way. It aims to demonstrate the activities carried out, the interaction between the team members, the contributions made by the contracting institution and the contracted participants, as well as some challenges and possible future expectations. The study is characterized as a descriptive research, of a qualitative nature, with procedures of bibliographic research and case report, from contracted services for treatment and organization of the university library collection. Through the information organization activities carried out in the bibliographic collections, it was possible to verify that it is of fundamental importance that the librarian, in carrying out the descriptions, establish a dialogical relationship with other members, in order to clarify doubts and promote more effective solutions. The present consultancy extended the knowledge of the librarians, mainly regarding the technical activities of cataloging, indexing and classification, besides strengthening actions of management and interpersonal relations, something essential for the success of the work in team, fundamental in the processes of information organization.
