The implication of representation in the reality perceived through the landscape

Abstract

Topothesia and topography were the concepts used on the ancient Greece to define what we
know as landscape today. In opposition to topography, topothesia is the description of a non-exis-
tant place. From these related concepts, an artistic production was developed on three blocks:
thopotesia, writing and landscape. Through them we can see the possibilities that the image adopts
in front of the real and the apparent: how the topographic can become topothesic and the other way
around.

Author Biography

Melina Airaudo, Facultad de Artes, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba

Nació en Río Cuarto, Córdoba en 1995. Es Licenciada en Artes Visuales y Profesora Superior de Educación Plástica. Egresada de ambas carreras en la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba con mención
especial y de honor respectivamente. Participó de diversas exposiciones tanto individuales como colectivas en las que se destacan “Investigaciones Topotésicas”, “Materialitat.01” y “Un mes (en un millón de años)”. Recibió la beca creación del Fondo Regional de las Artes (2019) y del Fondo Nacional de las Artes (2021). Realizó una beca de intercambio con la Universidad de Chile (2019) y participó de
la Red de Interrelación de las Artes (RIA-TDL). Actualmente dicta talleres de exploración artística en la ciudad de La Falda donde reside y es profesora adscripta de la cátedra Seminario de Trabajo Final en la UNC.
