Abstract

In the task of building an everyday legal world, proposal that sets the boundaries of the subject Introduction to Law, which is characterized within a context full of processes such as modernity, post modernity, and globalization, law as a cultural phenomenon is presented as the main topic. The First and Second World Wars brought about enormous changes and demanded new criteria in order to interpret reality, fact that had an impact on the conception of law, its purposes, tasks, and new social responsibilities. Thus, the current Western culture criticizes itself and the world views that have contributed to create the historical world and social relationships. Moreover, the interpretation of reality also resulted in the need for a pluralism of viewpoints and the acquisition of knowledge from a constructive perspective. As a consequence, important changes were brought about in the situation and functions of law which presents diverse conceptions that stress the need for comprehending and reviewing the different approaches that the discipline as such presents as well as the different models that they encompass embracing or not an interdisciplinary treatment.
