Funcionamiento familiar, regulación emocional y estrés durante el confinamiento por COVID-19 en adolescentes mexicanos

Resumen

El confinamiento por la pandemia de COVID-19 ha traído consigo múltiples cambios en la vida de los adolescentes. En este contexto, el objetivo de la presente investigación fue examinar el rol de la regulación emocional, incluyendo cinco estrategias adaptativas (conciencia plena, reevaluación, aceptación, solución de problemas y distracción) como mediadores paralelos de los efectos del funcionamiento familiar en el estrés de los adolescentes mexicanos. Un total de 788 adolescentes participaron en este estudio. Los resultados confirmaron el modelo de mediación paralela mostrando que el funcionamiento familiar puede reducir el estrés que experimentan los adolescentes al incidir de manera positiva en las estrategias de conciencia plena, reevaluación, la solución de problemas y la distracción. En conclusión, fue posible confirmar por primera vez los efectos que tiene el funcionamiento familiar en el estrés de los adolescentes mexicanos vía las estrategias de regulación emocional.
