ACADEMIC STRESS PERCEIVED BY STUDENTS THAT FINISH THEIR FIRST YEAR OF BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN NURSING FROM THE UNNE

Summary: Stress is a frequent theme in a wide variety of areas, and is the object of study of innumerable research. The objective of this work was to identify the existence of academic stress perceived by the students who complete the first year of the NursingDegree of theFaculty of Medicine in the period from January 1 to December 31 of the year 2017.This is study of quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and observation al type. Thes amplewas 82 students between 18 and 48 years old. It was highlighted, among the academic situations perceived as stressful, that 92% indicated the overload of practical work, and in a lower percentage other variables. Regarding psychological symptoms, 70% presente dinsomnia. Among the physical symptoms, 58% presented muscular tension. The out standing behavioral changea mong the students was the difficulty to concentrate with 91%. The perception of stress in the different age groups was analyzed in the present study, observingthatitis more frequent a mong students of 20 and 21 years of age. The perception of stress of thefemale sex with the male was also analyzed, and differen ces were found between them. Regarding the students who have smoking habit, 77% started thes ame before en teringtherace, and a third of them during the first year of their university studies. The analyzed data allowed to demonstrate the perception of stress identified by the students themselves.
