Abstract

This text addresses the subject daily practices, bodily wanderings and shelter poetics from the specificity of three collective projects that I participated in. It questions the subject based on the construction, at a distance due to the pandemic, of ties of sisterhood woven through performative languages between countries, artists, and their communities. The projects, in Mexico with the Furia Periférica women's collective, in California (US) with the Mujeres Unidas y Activas collective, and in Brazil with the Rubro Obsceno collective, have gender violence as their common theme, its impact on the body, and its creative transformation into a powerful feminist expression of struggle and resistance. Communication via Zoom opened spaces for tele/presence between artists and communities that previously would have found it difficult to dialogue, collaborate, care for each other, and find the complicity necessary to work on the horror of femicide. The private framework of domestic violence, made worse during the pandemic by the constant presence of the aggressor, is recontextualized from the architecture of the intimate space made public. These places are also recovered to generate the possibility of healing the violence imprinted on our bodies.
