Abstract

The implementation of Management Systems is hampered by faults that lead to problems and failures in their application. Experts think that this happens because people who apply those systems don’t assign meaning to all of the implemented procedures. To revert this problem, it is convenient for the operators to carry out a collaborative process of knowledge construction. The objective of the research is to propose and to apply a comprehensive methodological approach that collaborates in the use of multiple tools, that supports the various interventions and that promotes the strengthening of linguistic significance, the generation of collective learning and the increase of organizational flexibility. The approach that is developed combines problem structuring methods, process approach tools, and multi criteria group decision making. This integration of methods considers the premises of Behavioral Operational Research. This article describes a real application performed in a cooperative organization. The document includes the main results and discusses their implications. The conclusions emphasize the convenience of applying these combinations to facilitate the correct implementation of Management Systems.
