Abstract

Recently, Morocco seems to be rediscovering its African vocation in
the context of different events and strategies that have widened its
foreign actions. Following the complex relations established with Africa,
especially during the rule of Hassan II, the country is testing new
approaches after Mohammed VI came to power.
The African continent ranks among its most important foreign priorities
thus giving way to a renewal of the relations with that area. This
change is influenced by a number of factors of different nature. Events
such as the request for renewed support on the issue of the West Sahara,
the pretension to return to the African Union scenario, the security
and immigration issue along with the expansion of the business activities
and investments of Moroccan state-owned and private companies
represent the main variables that lead the agenda of the region.
