A lo largo de este trabajo analizamos los principales argumentos teóricos a favor de la existencia de lasEmpresas del Estado y los posibles inconvenientes que surgen de la privatización de las mismas. A su vez analizamos las dificultades particulares que estas empresas afrontan respecto a su administración. Finalmente, esbozamos, en líneas generales, cuales son algunas de las medidas que consideramos prioritarias implementar para mejorar la competitividad, eficiencia, transparencia y capacidad innovadora de las Empresas del Estado.
