50° International Conference on Public Finance. Reflections on Fifty Years of a Successful Activity

The Public Finance Conferences of Cordoba (Jornadas de Finanzas Públicas de Córdoba) are now more than fifty years old. In that time, they have established themselves as the most important academic event in the country, and one of the most important in Latin America. This has been given by the level of the papers presented, by the quality of the debates and the participants, by the intellectual climate that the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (Facultad de Ciencias Económicas) has provided and, also, by its permanence, despite to the various difficulties that Argentine society has faced in the last fifty years. In the work, an analysis is made of different aspects that are connected to the Conference (number of works, origin of the authors, etc.) and are linked to the Argentine economy, since the intellectual activities are related to the social context in which they develop
