Abstract

Abstract: In the city of Kazanlak (Bulgaria) we find the Rose Museum. Due to its particular typology, it is one-disciplinary and the only one in the world among the incredible number of museums distributed in the five continents. The medical use of rose oil and essence or their use in wines, potions, creams or ointment, go back to ancient times, especially in China, Persia, India and later in Eastern Europe. The history and facilities of the Rose Museum are described in this work. The importance of the medical and cosmetic uses of the products derived from the roses is explained.
