Family Health Teams play a key role working with schools in the promotion of health and disease prevention. This study aims at describing the role of a Family Health Team in the school community of the José Ignacio Díaz quarter of Córdoba city (Argentina). The methodology employed was institutional diagnosis in order to build diagnostic hypothesis. Formal and informal saturation techniques were employed. The main conclusions are that the task of the Family Health Teams is to strengthen institutions and that the recognition of the work of the professionals in the area of promotion, prevention and community assistance by the community is a previous requisite. Our contribution aims at providing the tools to enable the institution itself to become the reference point of the quarter inhabitant in this field.Downloads
