Abstract

An anthropological approach to the training of medical professionals is attempted. This field has been usually studied without a clear approach and disregarding reality. Our perspective is a different one, aimed at a deeper understanding of this particular activity. On the base of medical publications that have dealt with the subject and of ethnographic records, motivations and expectations underlying medical training are scrutinized and new elements for its analysis are provided in order to improve the training of this particular type of human resource.
