Todas las muertes y sobre toda las infantiles, constituyen uno de los hechos más movilizadores para la sociedad. En el caso de las muertes infantiles, estas son la expresión límite de la vulnerabilidad social de la infancia y por lo tanto prioridad fundamental en la agenda de los Ministerios y Secretarías de Salud. En consecuencia las muertes infantiles son indicadores de las políticas sociales de una región, país o provincia, de los principios que sustentan el sistema sanitario y de la calidad de los servicios materno - infantiles y el desempeño de los equipos de salud.Downloads
