About the Journal

The purpose of the Journal of Geology Applied to Engineering and the Environment is to promote the publication and dissemination of quality original articles in all its own areas, as well as the dissemination of news about events and publications of interest on the subject. It is aimed at scientists and professionals in geology, engineering, environmental sciences and related disciplines, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students in these specialties.

Topics included in the Journal are: rock and soil mechanics; fundations; environmental geology; geological-engineering aspects in the construction of works and pathologies of the land; geological aspects related to energy resources and remote sensing, geochemistry and applied geophysics; thematic cartography; geological risk; urban geology and land use planning; coastal geology; medical geology; integrated water resources management; geoparks and geotourism; application rocks and other materials for engineering use.

It is the official publication of the Argentine Association of Applied Geology to Engineering (ASAGAI).

Its periodicity is continuous publication with an open annual volume. This will allow accepted papers to be published immediately online, without waiting for the publication of a new issue, which speeds up the editorial process, shortening times and allowing authors to access their published work more quickly.

The journal has incorporated the Digital Object Identifier "DOI" that allows increasing the visibility of online publications and the level of citation, for a quick identification of works and their access.

The journal has incorporated the Open Author Identifier "ORCID" (Open Researcher and Contributor ID). This unique identifier is essential for authors as it facilitates the normalization and disambiguation of names, avoiding authorship confusion, which improves the visibility and impact of their contributions.

The journal has been published online every six months (in June and December) from 2008 to 2022, and in print between 1998 and 2018, inclusive. It publishes original articles, book reviews, technical notes and discussions, special and guest articles, dossier and opinion articles in Spanish, English and Portuguese. The reception of articles is permanently open.
