THE GLOBAL IMPULSE FOR SUSTAINABILITY: AN ASIA AND EUROPE OVERVIEW

Abstract

This research focuses its interest on the general study of environmental concerns in Asia and Europe within the framework of “The Europe-Asia cooperation strategy in the field of the environment”, pointing out the cases of Belgium and Singapore as important references in the environmental policies design in fundamental areas of sustainable development: water, air and soil. The environmental policies analysis of Belgium and Singapore represents a significant effort to generate a reflection that environmental issues have been a priority for a long time, not a passing fad, but a true commitment and responsibility of all countries to guarantee a better quality of life, citizen’s welfare and better environmental conditions.
