Abstract

This paper will address the method of recognition, applied in particular in international family situations, in pursuit of its transnational effectiveness, as a mechanism to overcome, under certain conditions, the classic methods of Private International Law. For such purposes, a review of its background, foundations, and requirements will be carried out in the light of national and foreign doctrine and jurisprudence. Finally, the recognition rules incorporated in the Civil and Commercial Code of the Argentine Republic will be analyzed, regarding the filiation, adoption and protection institutes of children and adolescents.
