Articles published in Pinelatinoamericana must adhere to the standards adhered to by the journal's editorial board, particularly articles involving patients as research subjects, must clearly state the approval of an officially recognised Institutional Ethics Committee. In the event that a journal editor or editors become aware of, or are accused of, research misconduct, they will deal appropriately with the allegations, in accordance with the recommendations set out by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), identified in this document.
