Abstract

The preliminary version of the list of lichens and lichenicolous fungi that have been recorded in Peru so far is presented, mainly based on the review and evaluation of the specialised literature. A total of 924 records in 215 genera were obtained. The genus with the highest number of species recorded is Cladonia (41), followed by Hypotrachyna (36) and Heterodermia (35), and the species with the highest occurrence are Chrysothrix candelaris and Cladonia melanopoda, which are found in ten and nine departments, respectively. There are currently 58 species that have only been recorded in Peru. In the country, data are available from 23 of the 24 departments (no data from Moquegua - MO). The department of Cuzco (CU) has the largest number of records (321). Finally, a map summarising the number of records per department is presented.
