Abstract

This article summarizes a special class given by its author in 1997 at the National University of Lomas de Zamora, on the occasion of the premiere of the film The Truman Show. It was published two years later in the collective volume “Etica y Cine” (Eudeba, 1999). Since the work is out of print, the original text is reproduced here as part of the tribute to the 25th anniversary of the film and to the validity of the ideas it promotes. The title "A horizon in bankruptcy" refers to a previous book "Ethics: a Horizon in Bankruptcy" (Michel Fariña et al, Eudeba, 1995).
