Abstract

The Ectodermal Dysplasia Syndrome is characterized by a severe reduction in the sebaceus glands secretion, sudorifereous glands (Anhidrosis), lacrimal glanas. It is to be in these children their dry and scare hair, scare eyebrows and lashes Hypotriehosis nails in shape and size (Oncodysplasia). The Síndrome is also seen in patognomics Facial characteristics. Bucal Caviry: diminished secretion of the Salivant Glands (Hiposalia), partial or total absence of dental elements (Hypodontia or Anodontia). It is absolutely neccesary that the treatment in these patients is carried out by an interdisciplinary team, in arder to evaluate the Psyco Physical symptoms of the Syndrome. The succes of this treatment with bucal rehabilitation (Partial or Complete Prothesis), allow the social integration of the patient and adquisition of corree! chewing habits, as well as good swallowing and corree! phonetics. There will be also an improvement in his or her corporal image (Esthetic). 1t will be of great importance the participation of both psycologist and family members, so that this child can get abalance in Health, treatment acceptance and subsequent controls.
