Abstract

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the most prevalent oral cancer within the population, representing approximately 90% of all oral neoplasms, and the lingual location is the most common site of the same, which usually presents with few symptoms which originates from presenting in advanced stages at the time of diagnosis. A case of an adult patient with a clinical and histopathological diagnosis of lingual carcinoma is reported. The study of these patients is important since they must remain in dental surveillance, not only in an early diagnosis of suspected premalignant and malignant oral lesions and timely treatment as appropriate, which improves their prognosis and quality of life.
