Abstract

The frequency with which the fenestrations and dehiscences occur in adult jaws and mandibles has been studied. The fenestrations have been found with more frequency in the jaw tan in the mandible and appear only buccaly. The greatest part of them are at the hi~ht of the first molar, and these are followed by the canine and first premolar. They are most frequently observed on the right side; thought the differences of these res u lts are not· statistically important. The position of the teeth in the arch is of great value due to the frequency with which the dehiscences at the hight of the teeth in malposition occur (ves:tibulated). On the other hand the grinding-in facet fourid on the occlusal surfaces and incisa! edges of the dental elements, lean? us to give more importance to the occlusion trauma in the aetiology of these defects
