Abstract

Stress influence in ex'perimental oncologic pathology induced by DMBA (1-2 dimethyl 9-10 bencentracene) is studied in salivary gl2.nds of the \Vistar ral. Two Iots of 24 animals each were used. DMBA was applied in the form of pellet in group l. DMBA and stress were applied in group 2.

Cold was used. as stressing agent. It was daily applied during 15 minutes at -lO?C. Phlogistic answer to DMBA appearead augmented on the 5th and 8th day because of stress effect. Induction times for neoplasias in both groups were similar. Frequency

of percentages in group 2 differs from that of group l. Dl\-!BA: lOO% on the 20th day in control rats. DMBA and stress: lOO % on the 15th day. Histologic findings ( adenocarcinomas, epidem1oid carcinomas) and histochemical characterizations were similar in both groups
