Abstract

On October 20th, Dr. José Ortega y Gasset, Professor of Metaphysics at the University of Madrid, gave a dissertation on philosophical culture in a public act, presided over by the Rector of the University, Dr. Julio Deheza, in the Salón de Grados and in the presence of a very large number of academics, professors and students. The exceptional qualities of the lecturer made this act, ordinarily trivial and ephemeral, a positive lesson, full of suggestions and intense emotion.
