Endocartditis infeccionsa de válvula aórtica prótesica por Pseudomonas Stutzeri

We present a clinical case of prosthetic aortic valve endocarditis caused by Pseudomonas stutzeri, a Gram-negative bacillus with phenotypically characteristic colonies, which is widely distributed in the environment and under certain circumstances can act as an opportunistic pathogen. Its isolation as a causal agent of this clinical entity is rare and its treatment is effective due to its wide sensitivity to antibiotics. Previous odontogenic intervention without antibiotic prophylaxis is suspected as a gateway for infection of the prosthetic valve. The importance of blood culture as a diagnostic tool for this pathology is highlighted.
