En este sentido, la presencia de mi director, el Dr. Jorge Bracamonte
(FFYH-UNC), y de mi codirector, el licenciado Gabriel Matelo (Universidad
de La Plata), fue fundamental: su guía atenta y cuidadosa me permitió
despejar dudas, no solo en lo que concernía a las diferentes vías de análisis
y las posibilidades comparativas, sino también para comenzar a ver, en
esa “oscuridad exterior” repleta de enigmas que planteaba el nal de mi
carrera de grado, los saberes que podía desarrollar y las posibilidades que
me aguardaban al nal. Para vislumbrar, al nal de esa espera, el resto del
camino; para arriesgar una posible respuesta a la pregunta tácita que nos
envuelve desde un inicio: ¿y después, qué?
Zama inicia con una descripción del itinerario del protagonista que
desciende desde la ciudad hacia el puerto, para aguardar la llegada de un
barco que lo sacará de su precaria situación; Blood Meridian inicia con un
retrato del protagonista-Niño, lo “vemos” descrito por la voz del narrador
antes de que inicie su moroso camino de violencia y muerte por las tierras
del Oeste estadounidense. Ambos protagonistas son islas inaccesibles, seres
que aguardan una conclusión que nunca llega, presas de un nomadismo sin
n, desgranados en cientos de esperas infructíferas. Pero, a diferencia de
ese Zama que se pierde ante la extensión interminable de la selva, del río,
de esa América que para él no existe sino en “sus necesidades, sus deseos y
sus temores” (Di Benedetto, 1990, p. 30), no estamos solos al escribir nuestro
Trabajo Final de Licenciatura: es en ese momento donde apreciamos el gusto
de la espera compartida, los dolores de cabeza que se alivian con unas palabras
de aliento, la curiosidad constante del grupo sobre el tema de la tesina, su
estado presente, a dónde va, de dónde viene. Esas preguntas que espejan a
las propias y hacen que el signo de pregunta se vuelva, más que un ícono de
temor o desesperanza, un símbolo de espera colectiva. Un ¿cuándo creés que
estará listo? que brinda esperanza, que no incentiva a la desesperación, sino
a proseguir con la lectura, con la búsqueda bibliográca, con una escritura
que va tomando forma a medida que las preguntas y las ansias de continuar
la impulsan a ponerse de pie.
Así, la angustia de la espera se convierte, de a poco, en expectativa. Las
emociones mutan y desembocan, nalmente, en el afán de llegar a la etapa
de la defensa, de poder ver ese nal y ojear lo que se oculta tras el nombre
opaco de Trabajo Final de Licenciatura: el cierre de un ciclo, el n de una
expectativa llena de momentos de reexión, de escritura, de risas, de nervios,
de instancias donde se comparte y se vive de otro modo la experiencia
universitaria.
