This is a publication on the results of the final work of Hilda Iparraguirre and Ofelia Pianetto's Bachelor's Degree in History at the National University of Córdoba. The final work was entitled "Aportaciones al estudio de la formación de la clase obrera en Córdoba, en el período 1870-1895", was directed by Ceferino Garzón Maceda and was defended on April 27, 1967. In this work the object of study is constituted by the urban proletariat of Córdoba, analyzing the transformations that took place from the incipient industrialization at the end of the 19th century. The gradual dislocation of the artisan social group and its transformation into an urban proletariat is documented, based on an exhaustive examination of the different forms of organization, ideologies and political affiliations, which are interpreted as part of a process of becoming aware of their interests. The sources consulted are: books, pamphlets, statutes of mutual and trade union organizations, documents of the Government and Police section of the Provincial Historical Archive of Córdoba, documents of the Municipality and Deliberative Council, published sources such as national and municipal censuses, compilation of laws and decrees of the province and statistical records, newspapers and periodicals of the time and private archives of different associations.
