ESCLAVOS CIMARRONES. LA FUGA: UNA ESTRATEGIA DE RESISTENCIA ESCLAVA

Resumen

Both in History and Social Anthropology, studies about the different
ways of resistance of oppressed groups have become relevant in the
last years.
In America, slave population of African origin is one of the social sectors
of major interest. The resistance of slaves in those regions adopted
different aspects according to the socio-economic characteristics and
special aspects of each region.
New theoretical approaches have widened the concept of resistance
thus giving rise to a more complex definition.
This paper focuses on escape as one of the solutions that Córdoba slaves
resorted to in order to show their discontent in a situation of
subordination.
In our research we consider the slave as a historical active subject
capable of generating changes through its actions within the limits set
by the social structure he belongs in.
