Abstract

The eff~cts of furosemide, atropin :and water (as proof) on 30 white rats. males, divided in three lots of 1 O animals each, that have been administered by gastrical wund daily and during a peric:d d 20 days have been studie The ingestion of water roeasured "'Ad libitum" daily as well as the alteraticns of the total body weight of the different lots; also the weight of the salivary glands ::md of the kidneys

of the animals of the thr·ee lots have been tak::n individ 'lally. Up:m finishing the expef'iment, a method is used fcr realizing the histological study of the pattern, using an evaluation and quantitative technique. The control of these is carried out as follows the diametrical averages of the acines and ducts as well as the existing relatían b~tween the weight of the ducts weight of the total tissue in salivary 9land have been registered. Also the diametrical aver-ages of. the glomerules and tubu1es as well as the existing

conexions between the weight of the glomerules/weight of total tissue in kid;1eys have be~n taken. We find statistically significant differences:

1 . Between the total weight of the animals treated with atropine and total weight of proof lot.

  1. Between total weight of salivary glands of the aniroals treated with furosemide and that of the proof to
  2. Between the diaroetrical average of the salivary gland ducts of the animals tr·eated with furosemide

and with atropine coropared with that of the proof lot.
