Abstract

A work with 87 white rats of both sexes with a weight of 150 to 250 g feeded with forramez "ad libitum" has been carried out. 1 he following lots hove béen established as follows; one group has been overloaded with glucose with a daily weight of 1 O g/kg. thorough stomach-tube. Two lots were treated with 25 U.l. of ACTH or with 8 mg. of hydrocortisone acetate per kilogram of weight, intraperitoneal, and other two lots were treated with the some hormones but with the addition of the glucose overload. In the animals with only overload of glycoside a hyperglucaemia that accentuates until the40 days starting to drop thereafter was observed.

The lots treated with ACTH or hydrocortisone showed higher hyperglucaemia produced by the glucose is not added to the one that results from the ACTH or hydrocortisone injections, on the contrary, especially in the case of ACTH, it would seem that the tria! With glucose and injected with this same hormone, show less hyperglucaemia than those treated with ACTH only.
